Next Generation of Cheap Solar Cells

by on July 29, 2010

****Sіnсе аll thе comments seem tο bе еіthеr 100% positive οr 100% negative аbουt thіѕ solar technology i want tο clear up ѕοmе ѕοmе misconceptions. First οf аll I’d imagine thаt takes being tο set up thе thе precision equipment fοr 2 οf thе lаrgеѕt solar panel manufacturing plants іn thе world аnd bе аblе tο print solar photo cells аѕ qυісk аѕ newspaper. Aftеr thе plant wаѕ completed іn 2007 thе first focus wаѕ οn commercial uses аnd thеіr first costumers everywhere municipal utility companies. Thіѕ sounds tο mе lіkе a ехсеllеnt business tactic tο hеlр уου set up a successful business frοm thе ѕtаrt. Next thеу ѕtаrtеd donation іt tο electrical contractors аѕ раrt οf a beta testing process ѕο thеу саn work out thе kinks thаt arise frοm scaling down thеіr panels frοm large commercial ones tο thе ones thаt уου саn υѕе οn уουr house. Thаt іѕ everywhere wеrе аt today. Aftеr thе beta testing thеу wіll ѕtаrt donation thеm tο thе аll-purpose public. Thеіr website even hаѕ a рlасе tο enter уουr email take up tο bе tοld whеn thіѕ technology wіll bе available tο уου thе home owner. Itѕ a process аnd thаt apparently ѕοmе people out thеrе believe happens over night. Thіѕ company immediately gοt more fiscal backing thеn needed. Google іѕ one οf thе lаrgеѕt investors ѕο I believe іtѕ аll legitimate. Thеrе аrе two benefits frοm thе υѕе οf alternative energy. It wіll save уου money bυt аlѕο іt means thаt energy produced іѕ done ѕο wіth out mаkіng pollution. Thіѕ іѕ ехсеllеnt fοr everybody. Even

if it’s so simple to make howcome nothing is for sale…
assholes
I despise my law of charming transitions. somehow no disrupting technology is ever allowable to come to pass. OLED has been known as long as LCD but they are still feeding us the crappy LCD when OLED is vastly better in every way. and this is so simple and cheap to make and they sell us bullshit lies that it takes time to scale production???
a super succesful business and they can’t expand? yeah right

everywhere is this …its been out for 4 being..and you still cant find it

Organized Crime (AKA Oil companies and our own government) are buying all the companies that produce solar panels in order to payment hundreds of times the cost of production of these panels. They don’t want us to have free energy, they want to make sure solar energy is never available to the public at prices that make sense. This is all a fraud. Wake-up America!

how are silicon wafers so expensive if silicon derived from sand is so plentiful?

ohnedich42 July 29, 2010 at 10:36 am

@doodr do you have a web site?

UltraMif71 July 29, 2010 at 10:46 am

bored, why? ’cause
(1) it’s low quility
(2) i know that already
(3) it wasn’t finished

I’ve looked up the website for nanosolar & they’ve been booked solid for over 5 yrs now! That’s how well loved it is! They austerely can’t keep up w/ the demand for their product! Plus, they’re tiresome to keep up while expanding their warehouse! I hope the expansion will compensate and open the market up for them even more so we don’t have to wait much longer!

We need a lot of solar cells in a shape like rod. If people add sunlight concentrator like flexible parabolic reflective mirrors to collect more sunlight, a rod can roll and turn constantly to cool off. Solar cells are expensive and flexible parabolic reflective mirrors can save a lot of solar cells if we adopt solar rod for evolution.

I’m not a left wing nut job or a right wing extremist, all I have to add is that for this technologies to advance quicker we really need to stay out of their business and let them thrive, there are too many so called “experts” who will do anything they can to slow them down (oil industry?). Things don’t happen overnight, lets give them a few more being and this will be a total hit. Imagine an entire city with solar panep roofs feeding back the grid. Now that’s an thought. I really hope this guys

so thin that when you try to assemble them they break easily and its a pain in the ass. I have even had them break after i encase them in safety glass no lie. Its very tiresome to make them I’m seriously thinking about buying a factory made one next time after six homemade panels.

I invented a breakthrough energy source which violates the law of energy conservation. I have a PROOF that there are electrodynamic phenomena which violate the law of energy conservation. I am looking for $30 000 for a prototype and for $3M for patents. Making a 15 kW generator will cost $1200 in mass production, value of the energy produced yearly about $10 000.

@elbeghast
there have been places to get solar panels for < $2 a watt for atleast a year, if you are willing to spend the money for a dozen panels …

doodr July 29, 2010 at 2:40 pm

@stonecoldjason
only 50 ?? must be a forgien suv

wwwvinnytrancom July 29, 2010 at 2:48 pm

What do you reckon about the “Costco” new Sunforce 246 Watt
Solar Power Back Up Kit with AstuteĀ® Solar Modules
30 Amp Digital Payment Controller and 200 Watt Inverter
Item # 253506 (retail fee @ $1,399.99) … is that excellent buy ???

stonerscolony July 29, 2010 at 3:20 pm

@idfask I agree

idfask July 29, 2010 at 3:25 pm

@Shalek no problem :)

idfask July 29, 2010 at 4:11 pm

@stonerscolony well thank god for plausible deniability offered by the word nearly :)
but still it would be so much cheaper and simpler to make flat solar panels (at least in the near future)

stonerscolony July 29, 2010 at 5:10 pm

@idfask it’s not impossible to refract or reflect set alight at multiple angles as suggested to direct at a source panel or area.

geminirat60 July 29, 2010 at 5:45 pm

this will be here sooner than you reckon

Shalek July 29, 2010 at 6:28 pm

@idfask I see, thanks for the answer.

idfask July 29, 2010 at 6:59 pm

@Shalek well it would be nearly impossible to make one of those have all of their solar panels aligned. just like with magnetic domains it only works if their all the same.

Shalek July 29, 2010 at 7:37 pm

I’ve been wondering if solar panels could instead be solar cubes. I was thinking like sponges with tiny pores so that set alight is taken from every angle and it has a chance to bounce throughout the structure. I am no scientist, just curious. Thanks.

I converted my home to a net-zero solar powered home that uses no oil or gas….

@o00o0o0o0o0o because i can see myself maybe making this shit at home
